1pm – 2pm –  Songs & Stories for a Winter’s Night: Do you ‘welcome the nights that double delights?’ Or doth ‘Winter waken all thy cares?’ Why does Santa ride in a sled driven by reindeer? Do you prefer Medieval carols or caroles? And what on earth is a Christmas goat?!! Winter is one of Genevieve’s favorite times of year, and the best time to gather together with those we hold dear, to listen to stories & share in music! So gather together & let us make merry as we take a look at a few ways & whys of traditional winter celebrations around the world & Genevieve will share a few of her favorite stories with you to help ‘Drive The Cold Winter Away.’

4pm-5pm – This week on the Information Takeaway, Juliet is chatting to the Greedy Wordsmith –  Claire Davies. A York Christmas Foodie special – hints and tips on where to get ‘indie’ food this Christmas, recipes and a bit of Christmas food history….. plus a few special Christmas songs!

5pm – 7pm –  Two hours of best Reggae selection with the mighty and finest Catch a Fire duo: York Man and Daddy Harper!

7pm – 9pm –  Tune in to HMGW

9pm-10pm – Soothing sounds for the Soul with Paul Coull’s Soul Hour!

10pm -11pm – To finish the day we will have some exclusive choices of French music from Maxime Maigret. Tune in for Bagguete et Croissant! This week we will focus on independent label “Chinese Man Record” and explore different bands of this label.

7pm – 9pm –  This weeks HMGW Show will be a replay due to unforseen circumstances. We will be revisiting the show from the 30/04/18 which features the brilliant York based band Van Der Neer and British Professional Wrestlers Boris Koslov, Dom Black and Myles Kayman. 12pm-1pm –  First up, Lunchtime Rush  with Declan Minskip! Will be talking about the new Doctor Who, and foods that Declan would like to try the most! We will also be discussing the next Poetry Open Mic, coming up on the 12th October at True Story cafe, on the Columbus Day and suitably named The Americans!

1pm – 2pm –  We have a special guest Genevieve of We Who Move, who is going to live present an early episode of her podcast Crossing Boarders:
In this episode, “Riddles, Rogues & Fair Young Maids,” we will be exploring the lineage & related songs of both Child Ballad 1 – ‘Riddles Wisely Expounded” & it’s more famous cousin, “Scarborough Fair.” Considering the sweet seaside town of Scarborough is only a short bus ride away from here & York is home to the renown Black Swan Folk Club, she could not think of a better time nor place!

2pm – 3pm –  It’ is going to be a little Pic’n’Mix! If you’d like to join us, sailing on the Two Rivers Net Waves and present your own show or just want to get involved with your local community radio – get in touch!

3pm-4pm –  What Rock? with Sam Booth and Alex Fisher will be exploring the Hipster Rock: all the best bands you’ve never heard of and hopefully one or two you have. Jordaan Mason, Neutral Milk hotel and more!

4pm-5pm – Brand new on Two Rivers Radio: Monday Memories 
Jayne will be taking a trip down memory lane, looking at what was happening locally and playing music from her chosen year.
Jayne invites listeners to guess the year and to tweet their answers to @tworiversradio using the hashtag #MM in the last 10 minutes of the show Jayne will reveal the year and there’ll be a reward, for one listener with the correct answer.

5pm – 6pm –  Welcome to the YSJ Hour where our team; Adam, Brett and Elisha will you keep you up to date with all the current affairs in York. In this hour we aim to inform and entertain you whilst discussing and debating the biggest topics that are happening in York throughout the month. The program will be filled with different voices whether that be a general member of the public or a specific figurehead in one of the subjects that we are discussing. There will also be live elements in which our guest will come to the studio to lead a debate on a relative topic, with all this and more you won’t want to miss the YSJ Hour.

6pm – 7pm –  Last month, on Bob Horton Brings The Weirdness: Bob Horton and and all of the members of his production team were killed in the apocalypse, triggered by them accidentally summoning the Elder God Hastur. This month, they are broadcasting live from the afterlife, where they have met some new friends.

7pm – 8pm –  David Johnson joins TRR team with first ever Soul Funktion.  A mixture of jazz, funk and soul across three decades..a gentle introduction into Dave’s musical tastes!

8pm-9pm – Kate Lock will be taking up the thorny subject of York’s recycling in Monday’s Glass Half Full . Why is carefully sorted recycling being mixed up on collection – and is the council losing residents’ trust over the practice? On the day the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)’s Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5C comes out, Kate be discussing climate change – and how we can talk about it more openly and effectively – with Ned Hoste of One Planet York and a concerned parent who wants a safer world for his young son. We will also be going into the woods with Katie Rees, who makes her living bringing people back to nature – and back to themselves – with a spot of forest living.

9pm – 10pm – We will replay one of the episodes of the Fan fiction Show!

10pm – 11pm – And to close this great day of music and interesting stories: Maxime Maigret is back with Baguette et Croissant and this time we’ll go into a French rap sub category. The focused artist will be the young Norman “Orelsan”.

Schedule – 26/03/2018

Tune in today for some fantastic community radio from the Two Rivers Radio team.
Declan Minskip presents the lunchtime rush from midday ’til 1pm. He will be playing upbeat music to get you going on the first day of the new week. Tony Mccormack should be dropping in to talk about mental health and promote his new charity CD, too. A CD of fab music co-produced with Craig Vinnie Whitehead and available for £10. Between 1 and 2pm the The Poetry Show will be discussing Folk Tales. Rose will also be talking about the recent and very successful Poetry For All event and about plans already emerging for 2019!
 
2-3pm – Ask York was recorded on Saturday afternoon as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of St Nicks fields and Environment Centre. Tune in to hear our panel:

Between 3-4pm the Soul Man, Mr. Paul Coull brings you an hour of the finest classic and contemporary soul music. This will be Paul’s final show in his current slot as the Soul Show will be moving to 10pm in April.
 
4-5pm Upside Your Mind will be in the mix with another sensational selection of tunes to take you on a voyage from the basement to the tropics and back. Again, this will be Upside Your Mind’s final show in this slot as he moves to 10pm in April.
 
Mr. Judge to You is back between 5-7pm with “Stuck in the Midlands With You” – to find out what it all means you’ll have to tune in to Steve and his very special guest, all the way from Australia!
 
7-8pm – Ask York will be repeated for those that didn’t catch it earlier in the day.
 
Kate Lock is in the hot-seat from 8-9pm with Glass Half Full. This is going to be a packed show covering a lot of group so fasten your seat-belts as we dive into topics as diverse as fracking, community-led housing & a local school who are re-cycling their plastic waste into teaching and learning tools.
