In this episode, “Riddles, Rogues & Fair Young Maids,” we will be exploring the lineage & related songs of both Child Ballad 1 – ‘Riddles Wisely Expounded” & it’s more famous cousin, “Scarborough Fair.” Considering the sweet seaside town of Scarborough is only a short bus ride away from here & York is home to the renown Black Swan Folk Club, she could not think of a better time nor place!

2pm – 3pm –  It’ is going to be a little Pic’n’Mix! If you’d like to join us, sailing on the Two Rivers Net Waves and present your own show or just want to get involved with your local community radio – get in touch!

In this hour we aim to inform and entertain you whilst discussing and debating the biggest topics that are happening in York throughout the month. The program will be filled with different voices whether that be a general member of the public or a specific figurehead in one of the subjects that we are discussing. There will also be live elements in which our guest will come to the studio to lead a debate on a relative topic, with all this and more you won’t want to miss the YSJ Hour.

6pm – 7pm –  Last month, on Bob Horton Brings The Weirdness: Bob Horton and and all of the members of his production team were killed in the apocalypse, triggered by them accidentally summoning the Elder God Hastur. Why is carefully sorted recycling being mixed up on collection – and is the council losing residents’ trust over the practice? On the day the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)’s Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5C comes out, Kate be discussing climate change – and how we can talk about it more openly and effectively – with Ned Hoste of One Planet York and a concerned parent who wants a safer world for his young son. We will also be going into the woods with Katie Rees, who makes her living bringing people back to nature – and back to themselves – with a spot of forest living.

A Snippet of StaxTENbury 2018

We had a fantastic weekend at StaxTENbury at the beginning of July!  Its taken a while to get round to writing our first post-StaxTENbury blog, but here we go…

HMGW produced 3 StaxTENbury specials over the weekend and interviewed some fantastic bands and artists.  We were even lucky enough to have a few do live sessions with us in the Radio Shack!

Check out this cheeky film of Circa 15 appearing on the HMGW StaxTENbury Special from Saturday 7th July.

Two Rivers Radio will be at Dunnington Fayre Goes Live tomorrow from 11am ’til about 10pm with more exclusive interviews and live sessions!

So, come and watch the bands, say hello, grab a drink and have a dance.  It’s going to be awesome!
