Winter is one of Genevieve’s favorite times of year, and the best time to gather together with those we hold dear, to listen to stories & share in music! So gather together & let us make merry as we take a look at a few ways & whys of traditional winter celebrations around the world & Genevieve will share a few of her favorite stories with you to help ‘Drive The Cold Winter Away.’

4pm-5pm – This week on the Information Takeaway, Juliet is chatting to the Greedy Wordsmith –  Claire Davies. A York Christmas Foodie special – hints and tips on where to get ‘indie’ food this Christmas, recipes and a bit of Christmas food history….. plus a few special Christmas songs!

5pm – 7pm –  Two hours of best Reggae selection with the mighty and finest Catch a Fire duo: York Man and Daddy Harper!

7pm – 9pm –  Tune in to HMGW

9pm-10pm – Soothing sounds for the Soul with Paul Coull’s Soul Hour!

10pm -11pm – To finish the day we will have some exclusive choices of French music from Maxime Maigret. Tune in for Bagguete et Croissant! This week we will focus on independent label “Chinese Man Record” and explore different bands of this label.

We will be revisiting the show from the 30/04/18 which features the brilliant York based band Van Der Neer and British Professional Wrestlers Boris Koslov, Dom Black and Myles Kayman. 2pm – 3pm –  Black York with Fasil Demsash this week will be about the role of Black people in British politics for the 21st century. Plus some great picks of African music!

3pm-4pm –  Breaking York with Graham Blueskies presents lyrics and tunes written played and sung by the people who wrote them. A show case for all genres for fully original work, information about the tracks recordings, where to get them from and go to see the artists’ live performances!  This week we talk about Jade Helliwell at Terrington Hall  on 2nd Nov – and a special mention to Breaking York’s first mini tour featuring three local artists Evie Barrand, Quiet Eyes and Ten-79

4pm-5pm – On Information Takeaway Show with Juliet Powell:
“Mum’s the word – breaking the silence about post natal depression and why being a Mum isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be!”
A knowledgeable panel of professionals and parents debate this sometimes tricky topic, with Anne, Jen, Lindsay and Marnie.
Marnie will also be telling us about National Adoption Week and how we can get involved.

5pm – 7pm –  Two hours of best Reggae selection with the mighty and finest Catch a Fire duo: York Man and Daddy Harper!

7pm – 9pm –  The next HMGW Show will feature a 45 minute live set from the awesome band One Chapter Down. As you can hear from the link attached which features one of their songs named Frankenstein,
they have a brilliant sound! We will also be playing the finest independent and mainstream music, going over recent wrestling shows and what shows are coming up. One Chapter Down are also big #Gaming,#Wrestling and #DragonBall fans, so this is something we will be discussing within the interview with those 4 talented lads.

We will be chatting to Claire Davies, David Grobowski, Anna Knowles, Neil Owens and Craig Taylor. Plus the usual uplifting music.

5pm-7pm – Two Rivers Radio studio will be on fiyah! With the very finest Catch a Fire!

7pm – 9pm –  HMGW prepared a special  pre-recoded show over the weekend which includes the long awaited interview with the Sore Thumb Retro Games shop interview. There will also be a blend of great music and some other bits and bobs.

3pm – 4pm – This week on What Rock? We’ll be looking over the genre of Prog-Rock, from where it originated to how it sounds now! Pink Floyd, Rush, Kansas, and for modern choices, let’s go The Mars Volta.

4pm-5pm – In this weeks Information Takeaway, Juliet will chatting to Angela Jones from The Samaritans here in York. We will be discussing the work they do, who they help and how to get involved in supporting the great work they do. Plus great music as usual.

5pm- 4pm – And we Continue with Junior Star Singer Songwriter York Heat recording from yesterday, joined by more young talented musicians!

6pm – 7pm – This week’s Weirdness is absolutely 100% live. We enjoyed last month’s discussion about monsters so much that this month we went one step further: Lovecraftian Horrors. Nothing will go wrong

7pm –  8pm –  It’s time for the Fanfiction Show!

8pm – 9pm – In replay of last months’ Glass Half Full Kate will be joined by representatives of York cycling groups and Clean Air York to discuss how the city could transition to an Amsterdam-style cycling culture. And, as the heatwave continues, Kate talks to Yorkclimate scientist Dr Andreas Heinemeyer about the implications for us all in a warming world. Plus, if Trump is making you blue, Ned Hoste of One Planet York has some tips on how to channel your creative passions to build a positive outlook!

A show dedicated to playing original material from unsigned and independent artists/bands/labels and studios with the added fizz of telling our listeners interesting elements of who, what, where and when. Ian, who is music director of York Jazz Initiative, will be talking about his musical influences, his career as a brass player and much more, as well as picking his personal selection of music.

9pm – 10pm – The Soul Man, Paul Coull is back with the Soul Hour. Tune in for some great selection of tracks!!
