Plastic Waste and Eco Bricks

Bootham School may just have found a Solution to the plastic problem…

Bootham School has committed to becoming involved with the ‘Eco bricks’ campaign. An Ecobrick is a reusable building block created by packing clean and dry used plastic into a plastic bottle to a set density. Ecobricks enable us to take personal responsibility for our plastic. The Ecobricks will then be used in school to create several projects and ensure that we are recycling our own waste.

Bootham School Council (follow us on Instagram) discussed getting involved with this campaign and over the next few days, there will be bins put across the school where students and staff can put plastic rubbish (including the plastic bottles).  The contents of the bins will then be used to create the Ecobricks.

Kate Hey and Robert Gardiner from Bootham School will be joining John Cossham tomorrow on Compost John’s Recycled Radio Show to discuss the project.
