It’s the bonfire night! Today we are celebrating the events of 5 November 1605, when Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was arrested while guarding explosives the plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords. Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life, people lit bonfires around London!

12pm-2pm –  Tune in! On this week’s edition of The Lunchtime Rush, Declan will be talking about the vibrant art scene in York and also the joys/ terror of looking after a cat and houseplants

2pm – 3pm –   We will replay one of the episodes of The Fanfiction show!

5pm-6pm – Welcome to the YSJ Hour where our team; Adam, Brett and Elisha will you keep you up to date with all the current affairs in York. In this hour we aim to inform and entertain you whilst discussing and debating the biggest topics that are happening in York throughout the month. The program will be filled with different voices whether that be a general member of the public or a specific figurehead in one of the subjects that we are discussing. There will also be live elements in which our guest will come to the studio to lead a debate on a relative topic, with all this and more you won’t want to miss the YSJ Hour.

6pm – 7pm –  Bob and his friends are tired of being dead. It doesn’t give them much to talk about beyond Death itself. Unfortunately, they are dead. That is not going to change. Nope. Absolutely not.

In other, completely unrelated news, the theme of this month’s Weirdness is Resurrection.

7pm-8pm –  This week Soul Funktion presenter Dave Johnson will once again be delving into his personnel collection of Jazz Funk and Soul spanning nearly 40 years .The ‘Long Song ‘ this week is a classic dance track from the Players Association and two back to back tracks from this year’s Soul Togetherness modern soul collection from Expansion Records. Tune in and tap your toes to an hour of essential music!

8pm – 9pm –  Glass Half Full tackles the hot topic of fracking, recently started in Lancashire and already dogged by multiple earth tremors. Will it happen around York? Kate will also be talking to Leah Bennett about York community group Planet South Bank and Adrian Lovett about the launch of Good Food York as part of the Sustainable Food Cities network. Plenty of food for thought and maybe a few fireworks in a show that examines environmental and social justice issues issues from local to global.
